Margaritaville Hotel Nashville is looking for an opening Director of Sales and Marketing that is experienced, well-spoken, highly motivated and determined.

 Job Summary:

The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading and developing a proactive sales effort, oversight of advertising, promotional initiatives and contributing to overall revenue generating efforts of the hotel to maximize hotel profitability and maintain customer satisfaction.  This includes driving sales, and achieving budgeted total hotel revenue expectations and RevPAR index targets.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develops a strategic annual sales, marketing, and media plan to achieve or exceed annual hotel revenue and group sales goals

  • Develops and maintains a cohesive and highly productive sales and event team with support, coaching, and training for team members on a regular basis

  • Manages GDS and travel agency strategy to include hotel in optimal corporate business travel RFPs and consortia programs through 3rd party provider

  • Handles a key group market segment and/or accounts

  • Monitors sales activities/performance of the department to ensure effort/revenue achieves hotel goals. 

  • Works with revenue manager to make informed decisions and maximize revenue

  • Manages incoming lead process and distribution of leads

  • Conducts sales calls to key accounts and prospects

  • Achieves individual and team sales goals

  • Represents hotel at local industry and community meetings and events, develops and maintains positive relationships with industry peers and partners

  • Uses destination and brand opportunities to drive revenue

  • Effective member of the executive committee

  • Provides trend insights and creativity for package development and promotional offerings to drive revenue

  • Works with food & beverage department to promote restaurants and F&B outlets

  • Responsible for hotel information/content accuracy on the website, sales collateral, advertising, or other marketing mediums that promote the hotel

  • Works with agencies to develop creative

  • Contributes content and promotional direction for social media effort

  • Leads weekly sales meetings

  • Participates in weekly revenue strategy meetings

  • Tracks and reports on marketing results/initiatives for hotel

  • Provides weekly and monthly group sales pace reporting and accurate group revenue forecast to management and owners.

  • Provides monthly and annual sales & marketing reports for general manager and owners as required

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Hotel Management Degree or Diploma

  • 4 years hotel sales experience with at least one year in the Director of Sales and Marketing role

  • Strong knowledge of both group, business travel and leisure segments (working knowledge of Association, Corporate and/or Medical and Pharma group segments a plus)

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams that achieve sales goals

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to develop contacts and long-term relationships

  • Ability to evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action quickly

  • Strong organizational skills including follow up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in STAR Report and other key industry metrics/analysis

  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in advertising and promotional activities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Sales and Catering software (Delphi a plus)
