Richard "Ric" CheyneY - Chief Marina Operations OfficeR

Ric brings nearly 40 years of experience in the maritime community to Sun Life Marinas.

His life on the water began working on his father's charter boat at the age of 14. Following his passion, he proudly chose to serve with the U. S. Coast Guard. His final duty station was Officer in Charge of the Coast Guard Station in the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach, one of the world's largest and most economically vital shipping ports. He retired in 2011 after 24 years of service.

Ric earned his 100 Ton Masters license in 1994. He has extensive surface operations experience that has taken him along the North Atlantic seaboard from New York to Key West, including the Florida Straits, Great Bahama Bank, the Old Bahama Channel to the Lesser, and the Greater Antilles. He has also operated in the Southern Caribbean, Central and South American islands to the Pacific Ocean, Pacific Rim, and the Hawaiian Islands.

He was selected to join our team in 2012 as Harbormaster at our Sun Life Marina in Clarksville, TN.

Dedicated to the successful leadership and growth of our marinas, he frequently travels to our properties to contribute to operations where necessary and ensure staff maintains our high standards of service.

Ric continues to work diligently to foster strong working relationships with local, state, and federal partners and the local recreational and professional maritime community.
